Vetting Procedures for Teaching Jobs
Teaching Applicants receive a Job Description Applicants complete an Application Form. Teaching Applicants are required to hold a current Enhanced Disclosure. • If an applicant for a teaching job does not have a current Disclosure, Classroom Call Education Services will apply for one on their behalf. • All current Disclosures will be checked against the DBS Update Service. Police Checks will be requested from overseas teachers and UK teachers returning from a period of teaching abroad. Employment Status checks are made against the NCTL database. Applicants for teaching posts and supply work are required to submit evidence of • Identity • Address • Higher Education Qualifications • Qualified Teacher Status • Induction • Right to Work in the UK • NARIC confirmation Two written references are requested, one from an applicant’s most recent employer and if newly qualified, from an applicant’s Institute of Higher Education. All gaps in an applicant’s C.V. and career path are discussed at interview. Applicants for all teaching jobs are asked to complete a number of Declarations including Medical and Disqualification declarations. On completion of all vetting procedures, applicants are placed on the Register. |
